The builder constructs OpenURL 1.0 (Z39.88-2004) KEV requests with By-Value transport — the form SAP1-conforming resolvers expect. Choose the metadata format that fits the Referent (journal article, book, dissertation, patent); the form will show the descriptors valid for that format. Empty fields are skipped. Values are percent-encoded automatically.

Notes

  • The builder targets the San Antonio Profile, Level 1 (SAP1): KEV serialization, By-Value transport, HTTP GET.
  • Every emitted URL includes ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004 and the appropriate rft_val_fmt.
  • Empty fields are omitted from the output; only descriptors with values appear in the URL.
  • The "Source identifier" field appears in the output as rfr_id=info:sid/<value>.
  • Authors after the first should be entered on separate lines in the multi-author field; each becomes a separate rft.au parameter.
